"Being able to meaningfully contribute to Adelaide Cabaret Festival was incredibly rewarding. Knowing that we supported two emerging acts and hearing directly from them gave me a real sense of connection, not just to the Festival, but to the artists themselves. It made me reflect on how powerful the contributions of the Vanguard group are in supporting artists to share and grow their talents."
- Anna Lacey, Vanguard donor
Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation Vanguard donors play a leading role in supporting artists and projects that define Adelaide's cultural scene, directly fuelling transformative initatives with significant community impact.
Vanguard is a community of young arts supporters who are passionate about making a difference through philanthropy. Each year, donors contribute an annual gift that is pooled to create meaningful impact across Adelaide Festival Centre’s programs. Thanks to the generosity of Legh and Helen Davis, the Lang Family Foundation, and Sheryn Foord, all donations to Vanguard are matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling their effect.
Beyond giving, Vanguard offers the chance to connect, learn, and engage more deeply with the arts. Through unique behind-the-scenes experiences, networking opportunities with artists and industry leaders, and a shared commitment to creative culture, Vanguard donors are helping shape the future of the arts in South Australia.

Foundation Impact Stories: Backing New Talent
With support from Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation’s Vanguard initiative, the artists received a performance fee, flights and accommodation, and full production and marketing support. This level of assistance enabled both acts to reach new audiences in a professional festival environment, without the usual financial and logistical barriers that can prevent independent artists from participating.
At the Vanguard of giving: A celebration at Government House
“It’s great to see Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation embrace these societal shifts, creating the Vanguard community to offer giving options that empower younger people to support the arts.” - Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC

Vanguard: A new initiative to engage emerging arts supporters
Generously hosted by Vanguard Ambassador, Jasmin Shahin, the launch event brought together a group of individuals eager to make a meaningful contribution to the arts. This initial group of founding donors has already raised a significant sum of $100,000, which will be used to support arts programs and projects at Adelaide Festival Centre.
