About our Foundation

Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation is a charitable organisation established to support Adelaide Festival Centre's mission to make the arts accessible to all South Australians.

"It’s easier to take than to give. It’s nobler to give than to take. The thrill of taking lasts a day. The thrill of giving lasts a lifetime."

- Joan Marques

Formed in 1999, Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation believes passionately that the arts benefits society in infinite ways, bringing joy, and enriching the lives of generations to come. The arts contribute to our creativity, tolerance and resilience, and plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing.

Each year, around a million people attend performances, events, and festivals at Adelaide Festival Centre, many made possible through the support of our Foundation. Our goal is to build a community with a lifelong love of the arts, nurturing South Australia’s emerging artists and engaging audiences across the state.

The arts give us so much - joy, connection, and a sense of belonging. We need these now more than ever. With your support, we can ensure the arts remain strong, vibrant, and accessible to everyone, now and into the future.

Every single dollar makes a lasting impact. Your generosity helps us achieve our goals of supporting artists, inspiring audiences, and keeping the arts alive for generations to come. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and contribute to your lifetime giving level. We proudly recognise all donations, and those who reach $2,500 or more are acknowledged on our Lifetime Giving Honour Board in the Festival Theatre foyer.
